BASSEM.ART · QUESTIONS
Before you hang it
Sizes, paper, framing, care, shipping, returns and payments, in plain words.
01
Sizing and paper
What exactly am I buying?
A work by Bassem, made to order in the material you choose: an art print on 285 gsm textured watercolor paper (shipped unframed), a gallery-wrapped canvas, or a framed print. Canvas and framed pieces arrive ready to hang.
What are the three materials?
The art print is made on textured watercolor paper and ships unframed. The canvas is printed on matte canvas and stretched around a 0.75 in deep wood frame, with mirrored edges so none of the image is lost. The framed print is printed on 200 gsm matte paper and framed in black, walnut or white wood behind a clear acrylic cover. Every product page links to the same piece in the other two materials.
What is the paper like?
The art print uses a heavy 285 gsm textured watercolor matte paper with archival inks. Its soft texture and matte surface keep reflections low, so the work reads well under a lamp or near a window. The framed print uses a 200 gsm matte paper behind acrylic.

Which sizes do you offer?
Every piece is offered in the sizes that suit its shape. Sizes are given in inches, width by height.
How do I choose a size?
Measure the wall and the furniture below it. Over a sofa, a bed or a sideboard, a piece about two thirds of the furniture’s width usually looks settled. On a wall of its own, larger is almost always better than smaller. A quick test: cut paper to the size you are considering and tape it to the wall for a day. If you are still unsure, write to us with the wall’s width and we will suggest a size.
Are the colors on my screen accurate?
We prepare every file carefully, but every screen shows color a little differently, and paper is not a screen. The print may look slightly softer or warmer than your display, and it will change with the light in your room through the day. That is the nature of a print on fine art paper, not a fault.
02
About the work
How is the work made?
Bassem works digitally. Each piece starts with his idea and direction, is developed with digital tools including AI-assisted generation, and is then selected, refined and finished by him until it holds together at full size. The Story tells it in full.
Is each print part of an edition?
Every print is an open edition: it is made when you order it, and a piece stays available for as long as it is in the gallery.
May I use the image for something else?
A print is for display in your home or office. Buying it does not include the right to copy, scan or reproduce the work, or to use it commercially. For anything beyond that, write to us.
03
Framing

Do the prints come framed?
The framed version does: black, walnut or white wood with a clear acrylic cover, ready to hang. The art print ships unframed, so you can choose a frame that suits your room. The canvas needs no frame; it arrives stretched and ready to hang.
My art print arrived rolled. How do I flatten it?
If your art print arrives rolled, unroll it on a clean, dry table, image side up. Lay a clean sheet of paper over it and weigh down the corners with a few books. Leave it for a day or two and it will relax flat. Never iron it, and never roll it back the other way to straighten it.
How should I handle the print?
Hold it by the edges with clean, dry hands, or with cotton gloves. Fine art paper marks easily from fingertips, and a crease cannot be undone.
Which frame size do I need?
Two good choices:
- Frame without a mat: a frame with the same inside size as the print, for a clean, modern look.
- Frame with a mat: a frame one step larger, with a mat whose window is about 1/2 inch smaller than the print in each direction, so the mat overlaps the print by about 1/4 inch on every side. For example, a 16 x 20 print sits well in a 20 x 24 frame with a mat. A mat gives the work room to breathe and keeps the paper off the glazing.
Ready-made frames are easy to find in the US for the common sizes (12 x 16, 16 x 20, 18 x 24, 24 x 36). Square, long and very large sizes often need a custom frame. Outside the US, most ready-made frames are metric: our inch sizes rarely match them exactly, so measure the frame’s inside size first, or use a mat cut to fit.
Any framing tips for a lasting result?
- Choose UV-filtering glass or acrylic, especially for a sunny room.
- Ask your framer for conservation-grade mat and backing board.
- Have the print hinged at the top edge with archival tape rather than glued down flat, so the paper can move a little with the seasons.
- Hang it away from direct sun, radiators and steamy rooms.
04
Care
How do I look after my print?
Keep it out of direct sunlight, away from heat and damp, and at a steady room temperature. Dust the frame and glazing with a soft, dry cloth. Never wipe the print surface itself, and never use water or cleaning sprays on it. An unframed print is best kept flat, in a folder or between clean sheets of paper.
05
Shipping
Where do you ship?
Free to any address in the United States. We do not ship outside the United States at the moment.
How long does it take?
Each print is made after you order it, then shipped with tracking. Production and delivery times are in the shipping policy. A tracking link is emailed to you as soon as your order ships.
How is it packed?
Art prints ship unframed, well protected for the journey. Canvas and framed pieces ship ready to hang.
Will I pay import charges?
No. We ship within the United States only, so there are no import duties or customs fees.
Can I send a print as a gift?
Yes. Enter the recipient’s name and address as the shipping address and your own details for billing. The tracking link comes to you, so the surprise stays yours.
06
Returns
Can I return a print?
Every print is made for you when you order it, so we cannot accept returns for a change of mind. If your print arrives damaged or misprinted, or you received the wrong item, email us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We reprint it free or refund you in full, your choice, and there is no need to send anything back. The full policy is on returns and refunds.
My print arrived with a gentle curl. Is it damaged?
No. An art print that traveled rolled keeps a soft curl for a while; see “My art print arrived rolled. How do I flatten it?” above. A crease, a dent, a tear or a mark on the image is damage, and we will put it right.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Orders go into production quickly. Email us as soon as possible and we will do our best to catch it. See returns and refunds.
07
