A Gift
For anyone standing in front of a blank wall: a dedication from Prof. Bassem Khafagy, and a free piece of art for your screens and your home.
BASSEM.ART · A GIFT
It is for you
A few words I wrote for anyone who has ever stood in front of an empty wall.
For anyone standing in front of a blank wall,
young or old,
counting the little money they have,
wanting beauty but believing it’s beyond reach,
thinking art is for others, not you,
It is for you
It was always for you
Bassem.art, and everything I create,
is my promise that empty walls don’t have to stay empty,
that beauty is not a luxury reserved for the fortunate,
and that your desire for art is as legitimate
as any collectors in any gallery
I was once you
I remember
I was there
Prof. Bassem Khafagy
The reason this gallery exists
I wrote these lines for Bassem.art. They are the reason it exists.
In my first home, when money was scarce, I would go to small shops far from the expensive galleries and choose the best piece I could afford. Then I would hang it, one wall at a time. I have never forgotten what it felt like to want beauty and to be told, by prices alone, that it was not for me.
So everything here is made to be within reach. Affordable, never cheap. Made with care, for ordinary walls and the people who live with them.

Every wall in this world deserves art.
A piece from me, to you
Now and then I choose one piece to give away. It is yours to keep, free: as a wallpaper for your phone and your computer, and as a small file you can print at home and put on a wall today.
No purchase, no catch. The gift arrives in your email inbox with a personal link to download. After that, we will share with you via email when a new collection opens. You are welcome to share comments with us, and you can always leave any time you want.
For personal use. The link arrives by email and confirms your address.
A gift is meant to travel
If these lines made you think of someone, a friend with an empty wall, a student in a first apartment, a parent who never bought art for themselves, send them this page.
Empty walls don’t have to stay empty.
